Hay is used for feeding your animals when you have them inside for the night rather than outside. You can buy hay from Marnie in the village as well. Hay is produced by using a Scythe to harvest grass while owning a Silo. You can actually check this by heading to your computer in the Farmhouse.Īlthough much more expensive, there is an alternative to cutting and storing hay. Since many players install multiple Silos and don’t fill them up to the brim – it can get tough to keep track of how much hay you’ve collected and whether it’ll last the farm through winter. You will have to use a scythe in order to cut grass into hay for the Silo. Make sure you’re cutting grass with the right tool so that it gets stored in the Silo. The Silo takes up 3×3 game squares so make sure it does not obstruct another object on your farm. Once you’ve placed the hay inside the Silo, you simply need to open it and drop the hay in troughs whenever your farm animals are hungry. Silos are particularly useful in winter when there isn’t enough grass for your animals to graze. You will likely need to build more than one Silo if you have more farm animals. She will take two days to complete building the Silo, after which you can place up to 240 hay inside it for your farm animals. Robin will agree to build you a Silo if she isn’t already working on a building on your farm. Just like all other farming constructions, you will need to start by consulting Robin the carpenter in Pelican Town and ask her to build you a Silo. Here’s how to build a Silo in Stardew Valley. Silos make farming easier as your character doesn’t need to run long distances for hay. You can store up to 240 items of hay cut from the grass on your farm. A Silo is a small cylindrical shed where you can store hay for your farm animals. It really helps me that I can switch to the other save file without abandoning the game altogether and do a goal on the other game instead then go back to the other one when I feel I've got more patience! (have autism/adhd.'having patience' is challenging - some days more than others!!).There are plenty of farming structures in Stardew Valley, and Silos are one of them. If I did eventually go back to it and still couldn't do it it would get traded in (usually always buy a physical version for this reason). ![]() I tend to get frustrated quickly in video games so usually if I got to a point I was stuck (or felt I was) the game would get swapped for another and I wouldn't go back to it for months. I do find it helps having 2 games on the go. Now I'm getting some more ideas for re-arranging the Forest Farm and what I'm gonna do to tackle the jumino's task I'll go back to Forest Farm and see where I can fit a barn in for a couple of cows (didn't realise you could sell animals too later), keep a couple.until can afford the upgrade to get goats and keep a chest full of cows milk.I may keep one cow back. Kenny has worked his little virtual butt off raising 40,000 and got Pam her bus back! I'm deciding whether to save up for the bridge to the quarry next or the greenhouse on that game when I go back to it. I moved onto other game as was getting frustrated with FF. In FF I was wanting the iron wood axe to get hardwood needed to buy an horse next!! Though the hardwood stumps don't seem to grow back like they do on Forest Farm? also seems to be loads more grass there.havent finished clearing the last 2 area's yet. It has been easier to get copper and iron on the 4 corners farm even with that little bit of rocks available on the farm. my energy was really low too with them flying things starting to swarm me so had to get out quick! The axe has had the copper upgrade. I thought the rock was like the big ones as it covered the whole path and couldn't even slide through between the wall and the rock!. gonna work out expensive if no more grass is going to grow already? (in spring yr2) though don't have a barn yet on this farm!įorgot about getting hay from wheat!. s only the second upgrade so 4 chickens and 4 ducks.haven't got bunnies available yet ,won't be getting anymore of them but was thinking of adding goats. ![]()
